Oilfield Service - Solids Control Technician

Job Summary: Solids Control Technicians are responsible for delivering dewatering and solids control services to clients. Duties include rig-up and rig-out, centrifuge support, equipment testing and monitoring, troubleshooting and repair, and acting as a client liaison to ensure job targets are achieved.

Solids Control Technicians may work away from home for up to 20 days at a time; company housing is provided. Shifts are 12 hours long and may be extended as needed to meet operational requirements. Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting up to 50 pounds, and safe equipment operation. Must be able to read, write, and speak English and possess basic computer skills. This position reports to the Operations Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rigging up and rigging out of company equipment at client well-sites frequently.
  • Dewatering and centrifuge support as requested by supervisor.
  • Provide optimal operation and maintenance of Company owned/leased equipment.
  • Function testing of all Company owned/eased equipment prior to leaving location as required.
  • Schedule and or perform equipment repairs as needed.
  • Completion of daily field reporting and safety documentation.
  • Adhering to and participating in all Company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to operate in a safe manner heavy equipment such as; excavators, telescopic handlers, loaders, etc is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
  • Basic understanding of safe work practices and willingness to adhere to safety regulations.
  • Strong team work and communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
  • Previous experience in construction, oil/gas, or water/wastewater is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn and operate basic equipment under supervision.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English at a level where the technician can fully carry out Company equipment instructions written or conveyed in English without need for interpretation
  • Valid Driver’s license with clean driver’s record and willing to travel extensively to work location.
  • Basic computer skills using Word, Excel and Outlook.

Working Conditions:

  • Solids Control Technicians will work away from home at times for up to 20 days, sleeping in either a company trailer on the rig site, company-provided housing, or in a nearby hotel at the Company’s expense.
  • Work is primarily performed outdoors at construction sites, waterways, or industrial facilities.
  • Exposure to water, mud, dust, and noise is common.
  • May require working in confined spaces or near heavy machinery.
  • Over time, weekend, or shift work may be required based on project needs.
  • Shifts run for a total of 12.5 hours and are sometimes extended if company objectives demand it.
